Record GPA-5 in Sylhet, pass rate also increased
A total of 6,698 students secured GPA-5, a significant rise compared to the 1,699 students who achieved this feat last year
The Sylhet Board has achieved a record number of GPA-5 scores in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams.
A total of 6,698 students secured GPA-5, a significant rise compared to the 1,699 students who achieved this feat last year.
Alongside the GPA-5 record, Sylhet's overall pass rate also saw a sharp increase, reaching 85.39%.
This marks a notable 13.77% jump from last year's pass rate of 71.62%.
The results were officially released today (15 October) by the board's chairman, Professor Md Zakir Ahmad, followed by a detailed presentation of the results by Examination Controller Arun Chandra Pal.
Female students excelled in every category, outperforming their male counterparts in the number of participants, pass rate, and GPA-5 achievements.
Out of 49,354 female students who took the exam, 42,661 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 86.04%. Additionally, 3,829 female students secured GPA-5.
In comparison, the pass rate for male students was 83.85%. A total of 33,811 male students appeared for the exam, with 28,351 passing, and 2,869 achieving GPA-5.
It is important to note that not all exams for this year's HSC and equivalent examinations were held.
Some exams were conducted, while others were cancelled. Marks for the cancelled exams were determined based on the students' Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exam results through subject mapping.
