RU likely to start campus classes from July 4
Regular classes are likely to begin, provided semester examinations and online classes for 2020 are completed
Rajshahi University (RU) authorities are mulling over how to begin regular campus classes from July 4, so as to avoid a session jam.
Regular classes are likely to begin, provided semester examinations and online classes for 2020 are completed.
The decision was made in a virtual meeting of RU departmental chiefs and directors of Institutes on Thursday.
From June 20, students may be able to sit for onsite examinations on campus which were interrupted and stopped in 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Gradually, all the remaining exams of 2020 will be held.
The RU Academic Committee will give the final decision on the matter, said RU Public Relations Officer (PRO), Dr Azizur Rahman.
With the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the education ministry closed all educational institutions and coaching centres on 16 March last year.
Since then, all educational institutions in the country have been shut for the last 15 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic, inflicting severe harm to student academic life, although an online curriculum and instruction have continued in a limited manner.
