Ensure that no dredgers come to Arial Beel: Rizwana instructs Munshiganj DC
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today (9 September) instructed the deputy commissioner of Munshiganj to ensure that encroachers can no longer fill the Arial Beel with sand dredgers.
"District and upazila administration exist for a reason. Police and administration must know who are filling the Arial Beel with sand dredgers," she said during a briefing on Arial Beel organised by Lohajang Upazila Parishad in Munshiganj.
The adviser also ordered the deputy commissioner to submit a report in this regard every 20 days.

During the briefing, Rizwana also instructed the district administration to demolish the brick kilns in the district that have no approval of the administration and no environmental clearance.
Industries, Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan, Bangladesh Water Development Board Director General Amirul Haque Bhuiyan, Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Md Abu Zafar Ripon were present on the occasion among others.
