The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across three divisions—Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet—over the next two days due to active monsoon conditions. The alert, signed by meteorologist Kh Hafizur Rahman, warns that the rain will likely begin at 6 am on Wednesday evening, October 2, and continue for 48 hours.

This is to mention that recent research revealed that at least 10 lakh people in the Chattogram division are at risk of landslides due to the impact of climate change.
