Ex-home minister Kamal's son Jyoti placed on 3-day remand
A Dhaka court today (29 September) placed Safi Muddaser Khan Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, on a three-day remand in a case filed over the killing of garment worker Ashraful Islam in Ashulia area.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum passed the order as police produced Jyoti before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand in the case.
Jyoti was arrested from the city's Uttara area on 14 September and was placed on four-day remand in an attempt to murder case filed with Ashulia Police Station.
On 11 September, a private university student Md Rabius Sunny filed the case with Ashulia Police Station alleging Jyoti along with other accused of the case for attempting to kill him.
