The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested former land minister Narayan Chandra Chanda from Jhenaidah while he was allegedly attempting to flee to India.

Shariful Islam, public relations officer of the BGB, said he was arrested from the Maheshpur border area.

Chanda is a former Awami League member of parliament from the Khulna-5 constituency.

He served as the minister of land in 2024 and is also a former minister of fisheries and livestock.
