Farida Yasmin, Elias Khan new President, GS of Jatiya Press Club
The total voter turnout in the election was 86.88%.
Farida Yasmin and Elias Khan have been elected respectively as new president and general secretary of Jatiya Press Club for the next two years.
The election to the supreme body of the journalists was held on Thursday. At the polls, Farida bagged 581 votes while Elias Khan 566 votes.
A total of 1151 voters cast their votes in the biennial election. The total voter turnout was 86.88%.

Apart from those, Hasan Hafeez was elected as senior vice president with 431 votes in bag while Rezwanul Haque Raja elected as vice president getting 651 votes.
Mainul Alam and Md Ashraf Ali were elected as joint secretaries and Shahed Chowdhury as treasurer.
Besides, Ayub Bhuiyan, Zahiduzzama Farooq, Bhanuranjan Chakrabory, Rahman Mustafiz, Rezanur Rahman, Shahnaz Siddiqui Shoma, Syed Abdal Ahmed, Kazi Raona Hossain, Bakhtiyar Rana and Shahnaz Begum Polly have been elected as Members of the press club.
