Fire at Tejgaon garage doused, 6 trucks burnt
A fire that broke out in a garage at the Tejgaon truck stand in Dhaka this morning (12 January) has been doused, according to the Fire Service.
The fire, which broke out around 8am, burnt at least six trucks.
Talha bin Jasim, public relations officer of the fire service, informed TBS that they received the call about the incident at 8:05am and arrived within five minutes.
"Three units from the Tejgaon fire service stations worked to bring the fire under control by 8:31am and completely extinguished it by 9am," he stated, adding that a total of six trucks were damaged.
The reason behind the fire could not be determined immediately. Further investigations are expected to determine the cause of the fire.
The incident occurred inside the truck stand and would not affect traffic movement, said Snehasis Kumar Das, assistant commissioner (traffic) of Tejgaon zone.
