Former Special Branch head Monirul spotted in India

Former head of the Special Branch of Police Monirul Islam, who has been in hiding since the fall of the Awami League government on 5 August, was spotted in India recently.

He was seen doing grocery shopping at a shop in Connaught Place in Delhi, India.

A friend of a Bangladesh Bank official who preferred to remain anonymous sent him photos of Monirul while also confirming that a few other politicians and police officials are living in the same area.

Former additional commissioner of police Monirul Islam was removed from his post and forced into retirement on 13 August citing public interest.
