Garment workers block Dhaka-Chattogram highway

Workers of Denim Garments have blocked the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Cumilla.
The workers have staged the protest in demand of their two months' salary that is due.
However, they withdrew their protest after four hours around 1:30pm following assurances from the factory owner, said Moynamati Highway police station Officer-in-charge Belal Uddin Jahangir.

It is learned that the blockade caused traffic jam on both sides of the highway for several kilometers.
As the traffic was stopped for four hours, there was a traffic jam on the highway, causing huge sufferings to passengers.
Traffic on the highway is normal now, said the OC.
