Govt allocates 258 metric tons of rice for Durga Puja in Manikganj

The government has allocated 258 metric tons of rice for 516 Puja Mandaps for Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu Community in all seven upazilas in the district.

Manikganj District Puja Udjapan Parishad President Prof Basudeb Saha said the allocated rice will be disbursed equally among 516 Puja Mandaps in the district, adding that each of Puja Mandap will get 500 kilogram of rice.
Bangladesh National Puja Udjapan Parishad Member Advocate Osim Kumar Biswas said all necessary preparations for holding the Saradiya Durga Puja near to be completed, adding that the Durga Puja will be celebrated all over the district with great festivity and pleasant atmosphere as the District Administration and District Police Administration have taken all necessary measures for holding the Durga Puja peacefully in the district.
Advocate Osim Kumar Biswas said the 5-day Saradiya Durga Puja will be celebrated starting on 9 October and will end on 13 October with the immersion of the idol of the Durga.
