Interrogation of 'VIPs' over allegations of inciting, advising, financing against student-led movement ongoing: DMP
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has said that some "VIPs" have been taken into remand and are currently being interrogated over allegations of inciting, advising and financing against the student-led movement.
Md Mainul Hasan, Commissioner of DMP, said this at a programme titled 'Commissioner's Meet The Press' at DMP Media Centre today (24 August).
Replying to a question, the commissioner said, "The 'VIPs' have been taken into remand under cases filed recently for their alleged involvement against the student protests.
"We've learned that they had financed, advised and incited the government against the protesters. We're questioning them about these allegations," he added.
When asked about whether any actions will be taken against the police officials involved in the killing and injury of protesters, the commissioner said that cases have been filed against some police officials and legal procedures against them are undergoing.
"We don't have any information about those police officials who have not been arrested. We're working to build trust in the police force. People of the country will see transparency in our activities in the future," added the commissioner.
