Jaago Foundation in collaboration with Asia Foundation is going to host a half-day participatory dialogue between youths and political representatives.
The dialogue will be hosted at the Doreen Hotels and Resorts situated at the Gulshan area of the capital from 10 am to 1pm on Saturday, said a press release issued by Jaago Foundation on Thursday.
Organised marking the golden jubilee of independence of Bangladesh, the dialogue aims to develop positive relationships between the political representatives and youth and contribute to bringing positive policy-level changes concerning youth roles in democracy and good governance.
The panelists for the program are Shariatpur-3 constituency lawmaker and convenor of Young Bangla Nahim Razzaq; President of Juba Mohila League Nazma Akhter; Women Reserved Seat-50 lawmaker Rumeen Farhana; National Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Tabith Awal and Nilphamari-4 constituency lawmaker Ahsan Adelur Rahman Adel.
Nobonita Chowdhury, Director, Gender, Justice and Diversity (GJD) and Preventing Violence Against Women Initiative, BRAC, will moderate the half-day dialogue where the political representatives will be informed on the youth's concern about strengthening good governance and democracy.
The discussion will occur at Four Points by Sheraton where these youth can address the country's pressing issues with the concerned multi-party-political youth representatives joining as panelists, the release said.
Korvi Rakshand, the Founder and Executive Director of JAAGO Foundation, said, "It is evident that youth has been keen on identifying issues, messages, and challenges related to democracy and governance among their network. Engaging youth with the political representatives will not only enhance the skills and leadership potential, but political representatives will also value their contribution, which will be effective for the betterment of the country."
