Liberian ship reaches Mongla with over 31,000 tonne of coal for Rampal power plant
The unloaded coal will be transferred to the power plant's dedicated jetty using lighter/coaster ships
Liberian cargo ship "MV Panagia Kanala" has reached Mongla Port carrying 31,000 tonne of coal for the Rampal Thermal Power Plant in Bagherhat.
The ship anchored at the port at 10am on Thursday (13 July). It had departed from Indonesia for Bangladesh on 26 June.
Khandkar Riazul Haque, assistant manager of Togi Shipping and Logistics Limited in Khulna, the local shipping agent of the Liberian vessel, said unloading of coal from the ship started in the afternoon.
The unloaded coal will be transferred to the power plant's dedicated jetty using lighter/coaster ships.
