Lost mother meets family after 15 years
Abeda Begum had psychological problems and left home 15 years ago
They lost their mother around 15 years ago. The mother, a psychologically disturbed woman, left home unexpectedly one night. Her children were looking for her everywhere since then.
Though 15 years have elapsed, the children did not forget the memories of their mother. So, whenever they went to a new place, they kept searching for her.
Luckily, one of the sons found the lost mother at Gabura union in Shyamnagar Upazila under Satkhira district. It was like a cinematic event.

The son, Alamin, went to Shyamnagar to attend a wedding. There he heard that an elderly woman was living at Chadnimukha Bazar for the past two years – next to the house where he was invited. And that she survived by begging.
So, Alamin went to Chandnimukha Bazar and found that the elderly woman was none other than his mother. The woman also recognised her son immediately and started crying on seeing her son after 15 years.
Alamin is a resident of Gharkhol village in the Jirodhabazi area under Mongla Police Station in Bagerhat district.
"We are four brothers and two sisters. Our mother, Abeda Begum developed psychological problems and cannot remember anything. Fifteen years ago, she left home on a night when it was raining," Alamin said.
So, they searched around for her. They also took measures such as filing a general diary at the police station, miking, publishing newspaper advertisements and other means to try to locate her, said Alamin.
"However, we had a firm belief that our mother is still alive. So, we searched for her wherever we went. It became a habit for us," said Alamin.
He continued, "So, when I came here to attend the marriage of a relative of my neighbour this Friday, I came to know about an elderly woman. Hearing the matter, I tried to cross check and discovered that it was my mother."
Now, we are happy to get her back, added Alamin, with a smiling face.
Masudul Alam, chairman of Gabura Union, said that he is happy that the children of this elderly woman have found her finally, and that she is back with her family.
