Malaysian student dies in Mymensingh
Students of the Bangladesh Agricultural University blamed the negligence of the university authorities for her death
A Malaysian student died early Saturday (November 9) after suffering from respiratory complexities at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Harani Janaki Raman, a student of Veterinary faculty at Bangladesh Agricultural University.
Meanwhile, students of the university blamed the negligence of the university authorities for her death.
"The ambulance arrived three hours after Raman's health emergency was reported, causing a delay to her treatment," said a student wishing anonymity.
On November 10, the students staged a sit-in protest blocking the road in front of the Vice-Chancellor's residence.
The agitated students have given an ultimatum till 12pm today to remove the Veterinary Faculty Dean Professor Nazim Ahmed, Begum Rokeya Hall Provost Dr Ziaul Haque and university's Chief Medical Officer Dr Foyez Ahmed.
However, the university Proctor Dr Md Azharul Haque declined to make any comment in this regard.
