Mubashar Hasan, a journalist and researcher who had been detained at the secret detention facility 'Aynaghar' for 44 days during the Awami League era, today (12 February) took to Facebook to address those who called photos of the secret detention centre fake.
He also wished that such a fate did not befall them.
"Those of you who are saying that Aynaghar is fake, you all are my brothers and sisters. May such a moment never come to your lives. Be well, even if you all get the highest form of repression," Mubashar said in the post.
Earlier in the day, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus along with other government officials, journalists and victims of Aynaghar visited the secret facilities at the Rapid Action Battallion (RAB) Headquarters in the capital's Uttara.
The various cells of the secret facility were shown live through the Facebook profile of CA's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
In one of his posts, Shafiqul showed a cell and mentioned Mubashar, saying, "This tiny Aynaghar is where my young friend and top researcher Mubashar Hasan was secretly kept and tortured for 44 days in 2017."
Although the posts were met positively, some criticised it, saying the photos were fake, or the whole thing was stage-managed.
