The ministry has no problem with DGHS: Zahid Maleque
"If convicted, the people involved must be severely punished and exemplary action must be taken against them."
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has said, "The ministry has no problem with the health directorate. The ministry may ask the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) for an administrative explanation, which is part of the government's job.
The government is looking into the immoral activities of JKG and Regent Hospital. If convicted, the people involved must be severely punished and exemplary action must be taken against them. "
This was stated by the Health Minister at a briefing with media personnel at the Secretariat this afternoon.
Asked whether the health directorate has any problem with the ministry, the health minister said, "The ministry has no problem with the department. Both are organs of government. Both the organisations are currently working round the clock to deal with the disaster of Covid-19.
He said a letter has been sent to the directorate from the ministry to explain the recent activities of JKG and Regent Hospital. It is only a part of the administrative and bureaucratic work of the government. This is not a problem of the ministry and the department. "
After talking to media personnel, the minister held a meeting with the Secretary of the Department of Health Abdul Mannan and the Secretary of the Department of Health Education.
The minister directed the secretaries to be vigilant on whether the general public is being deprived of services in all clinics and hospitals in the country. In addition, any clinic or hospital should take immediate action against any immoral activity.
