Criminal mastermind sent to court
The police recovered the body of an 11-year-old boy from an under-construction building in Chandgaon area of Chattogram city in the early hours of Thursday, five days after he went missing.
Deceased Rahim, son of one Selim Uddin of the West Mohra area in Chandgaon, was a fifth-grader at West Mohra Government Primary School.
Confirming the news, Chandgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam said that they have arrested two suspects-- Azam Khan and Hridoy in this connection.
"Rahim was abducted by his neighbour Azam Khan and his accomplices on the afternoon of 29 April. The boy was taken to an under-construction building and killed on that day. He was also buried there," said the OC.
Rahim's father filed a general diary on the day he went missing.
"Azam Khan was detained and interrogated on Wednesday. Based on his statement, the boy's body was recovered at around 3am," said OC Khairul, adding that the boy was abducted and killed for a ransom of Tk50,000.
The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
A murder case has been filed against the duo and they have been sent to court, confirmed the OC.
