Missing girl from Panchagarh found dead in Dhaka
The Railway Police found Asma’s body on Monday in an abandoned train compartment
A sixteen-year old girl -- who went missing from Panchagarh on Sunday -- has been found dead in Dhaka’s Kamalapur Railway Station.
The Railway Police found Asma Akter’s body on Monday morning in an abandoned train compartment and sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy, confirmed Railway Police Sub-Inspector Rusho Banik.
“We found a bite mark on the right side of her chest, bruising and rope marks on her neck and injury on her forehead. Initial evidence suggests the victim was raped,” he added.
Daughter of Md Abdur Razzak, Asma hailed from Panchagarh Sadar Upazilla’s Konapara village, said Raju Ahmed, uncle of the victim.
She had passed her SSC examination from Khan Bahadur Madrasa and was waiting for admission for further studies.
“Asma went missing on Sunday. We came to the hospital to identify the body after hearing the news,” Raju added.
He also claimed that Badhan -- a student of another madrasa in Panchagarh -- is responsible for her death.
“Badhan manipulated Asma to elope with him. He also went missing after Asma’s abduction. We will file a murder case against him,” he added.
