Journalist Hilali Wadud passes away
Hilali Wadud Chowdhury was a member of National Press Club and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).
Hilali Wadud Chowdhury, senior sub-editor of daily Bhorer Kagoj breathed his last on Friday in the capital.
He died on the way to the hospital at around 9am after suffering a heart attack, reports Jago News.
Hilali Wadud Chowdhury was a member of National Press Club and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).
He was the presidential candidate in the Dhaka Sub-Editors Council election to be held on 16 January.
According to his family, Wadud Chowdhury was leaving his home in Khilgaon to attend the general meeting of the Sub-Editors Council held at the National Press Club in the morning. At that time, he felt chest pain.
When he was taken to Khidmah Hospital in Malibagh, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
His body will be brought to his workplace Bhorer Kagoj at 12:30 pm. Then he will be taken to the press club at around 1 pm for janaza.
Hilali Wadud Chowdhury will be laid to rest in his native home in Domar, Nilphamari. He left behind his wife, daughter and many admirers.
