PM mourns death of Prince Phillip in letter to Queen Elizabeth
The Premier prayed for the strength and courage to the Majesty, the Royal family and the people of the United Kingdom to bear this irreplaceable loss
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has written a letter to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II expressing grief and condolence at the demise of His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Philip on behalf of Bangladesh and herself.
"To the People of Bangladesh, HRH the Duke of Edinburgh will always remain an example of duty and honour, a pillar of strength and support to Your Majesty, and to the Commonwealth People," wrote the premier, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office.
Recalling the Majesty's two historic visits to Bangladesh with Prince Philip, Sheikh Hasina wrote that Bangladesh and the British Bangladeshi community have lost a true friend.
In her condolence letter, the Premier prayed for the strength and courage to the Majesty, the Royal family and the people of the United Kingdom to bear this irreplaceable loss.
