BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed that "dictator" Sheikh Hasina maintained power with the support of India's intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
"India helped Sheikh Hasina remain in power, relying on its intelligence agency for support. She believed that they would ensure her hold on power. As a result, anyone who spoke out against India faced consequences under her rule," Rizvi said while speaking as the chief guest at an event in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan today (1 October).
He further criticised Sheikh Hasina, stating that her government's response to calls for democracy has been brutal, with dissidents facing violent suppression, including broken limbs, enforced disappearances, and even death.

"Sheikh Hasina has committed so much corruption and plundered so extensively that she silenced any criticism," Rizvi said, adding, "Perhaps she anticipated needing to flee someday, leading her to secretly transfer funds abroad through her close associates."
Addressing the internal government, he questioned, "What are you afraid of? Why haven't you arrested Hasina's associates or removed them from power? Why hasn't the Union Parishad chairmanship been abolished? These individuals are murderers and thugs, responsible for the martyrdom of our students."
