Probe report on Bhola clash submitted
The head of the investigation committee declined to comment on the report citing the High Court’s legal obligation
The probe report on Bhola clash has been submitted to Deputy Commissioner Masud Alam Siddique today.
However, head of the three-member investigation committee Mahmudur Rahman, deputy director of local government, declined to comment on the report citing the High Court's legal obligation.
According to different sources, the report includes all the pre and post events centring the incident.
Initially, the committee had been asked to file a report within three working days (by Thursday) but later two more days were extended on request of the investigation committee.
Two other members of the committee are Additional Deputy Commissioner (ICT and Education) Atahar Mia and Additional Superintendent of Police Mohsin Al Farooq.
On October 20, four people were killed and hundreds injured in Borhanuddin upazila in clashes between the police and local people who were demanding punishment for a Hindu youth Biplob. Local people claimed that Biplob had hurt their religious sentiment in a Facebook post.
