Quader warns against over-charging fares
Some people involved in the practice have already been detained
Transport Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said transport companies that are over-charging homebound passengers will be punished.
When asked about schedule collapse and allegations of over-charging fares, Quader said he had heard that some vehicles were running late.
“It’s not right to make sweeping accusations. You have to point out the problem,” he said while visiting a mobile court drive at Mohakhali inter-district bus terminal in the capital.
“We’re taking action after getting complaints about over-charging. Some people involved in the practice have already been detained,” he said.
