Home minister urges all to obey traffic rules
Transport workers have proposed some changes to the law, which he has forwarded to the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today called upon all to obey the traffic rules in a bid to avoid accidents.
The minister made the statement while inaugurating the 15-day Traffic Awareness campaign at Rajarbagh Police line in the capital.
The Home boss also said that transport workers have withdrawn their strike after holding talks with the government.

"They had raised some objections regarding the Road Transport Act. After the meeting last night, the workers have withdrawn their strike," he said.
He said that transport workers have proposed some changes to the law, which he forwarded to the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry.
During the meeting, the workers placed a nine-point demand before the minister, demanding changes in the law.
The Home Minister said, following the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, restrooms would be constructed on the highways for bus and truck drivers.
While addressing the ceremony, Inspector General of Police Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary said that no one would face transfer for enforcing the law properly.
In his address, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam said it would be a shame on the law enforcers if they fail to bring discipline on the roads and students again launch a move like the 2018 road-safety protest.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Malik Samity said, they called off the strike following government's assurances.
However, vehicles are still not moving in some places as they might not have got the information of the withdrawal," he added.
