Real estate companies achieved sales and bookings worth Tk403.13 crore for flats, plots, and commercial spaces at the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) Fair 2024, which concludes today (27 December).
In a press release, the REHAB announced that by 5pm, sales and bookings had reached Tk403.13 crore, including Tk230 crore for flats, Tk96 crore for plots, and Tk77.12 crore for commercial spaces.
Moreover, bank commitments worth around Tk1,090 crore were recorded, and the event attracted 17,729 visitors.
In the previous REHAB Fair in 2022, sales and bookings for flats, plots, and commercial spaces were around Tk351.16 crore. In 2021, the figure was Tk398.38 crore.
The five-day REHAB Fair 2024 began with 220 stalls at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.
REHAB leaders expressed satisfaction with the event, saying the fair achieved its intended objectives. The overwhelming response from people over the past few days has encouraged the housing sector. While many companies participated in the fair for branding purposes rather than sales, they considered their goals successfully achieved.
Participating companies showcased the quality of their offerings to potential buyers, who will now evaluate their options and make final decisions later.
According to organisers, only the REHAB Fair offers such a significant gathering of buyers in one place.
This year's event saw an extensive turnout. For the first time, a booth was set up by the Real Estate Research Standing Committee to collect data on the real estate sector. Around 1,000 buyers provided their opinions by filling out research forms.
Md Harun-Or-Rashid, chairman of the Real Estate Research Standing Committee, said the feedback from visitors will help determine the future progress of the real estate sector.
