Sarjis made chief organiser of National Citizens’ Committee

Sarjis Alam, a member of National Citizens' Committee, has been named the chief organiser of the committee.
The announcement was made in a memo issued today (9 December).
"Sarjis Alam has been designated as the chief organiser to lead efforts in expanding activities aimed at abolishing the fascist system and implementing a new political settlement," says the memo signed by the committee convenor Nasiruddin Patowari and member secretary Akhtar Hossain.

The 55-member National Citizens' Committee was launched on 8 September.
Samanta Sharmin is the spokesperson of the committee.
The committee aims to support the newly-formed government, bring it under accountability, and influence policymaking in the public interest.
The committee's tasks include upholding the democratic aspirations of the uprising, ensuring justice for those involved in the massacre of students and citizens, and cooperating with the interim government to reform state institutions.
