School teacher beaten dead in Hatiya
A school teacher was beaten to death on early Monday in Char Amanullah of Hatiya upazila in Noakhali over a money related dispute.
The deceased was identified as Kazal Krishna Das, 55, the headmaster of Indreshwari Government Primary School in Sukhchar Union of the upazila.
Pranatosh Das, son of the deceased, alleged that Khokon Chandra Majumder, resident of the same village, borrowed money from his father. When his father went to Khokon for collecting money around 4:30 pm on Sunday, Khokon's son Shanto Chandra Majumder beat his father.

"When he (Kajal) returned home as injured, he was treated locally. As his condition deteriorated, he was later rushed to the Upazila Health Complex at around 2 am and died at around 4 am on Monday," Pranatosh said.
Hatiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Khair said the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy.
"Shanto Majumdar has been detained for questioning for the allegations of the deceased's son. Necessary action will be taken regarding the incident," he told The Business Standard.
