“Sonamasjid Tourism Motel” inaugurated at Chapainawabganj
The Sonamasjid Tourism Motel has been constructed in Chapainawabganj as per the government’s strategy to boost tourism in the area
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Md Mahbub Ali, inaugurated the " Sonamasjid Tourism Motel" built by Bangladesh Tourism Corporation at Shibganj in Chapainawabganj.
The Minister inaugurated the motel via videoconferencing on Tuesday, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
Bangladesh Tourism Corporation's 3-storey "Sonamasjid Tourist Motel" has various facilities for tourists, including 12 air-conditioned rooms, six common rooms, 1 dormitory with 50 seats, 1 restaurant with 50-person capacity and car parking, the release added.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the State Minister said the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism is working per the Prime Minister's directives to bring substantive, qualitative changes in Bangladesh's tourism industry.
The present government has taken initiatives to introduce essential amenities for domestic and foreign tourists in all of Bangladesh's major tourist spots. These include accommodation, food, package tours, transportation and communication.
The Sonamasjid Tourism Motel has been constructed in Chapainawabganj as per the government's strategy to boost tourism in the area.
Md Mahbub Ali said, "More than 800 tourist attractions have already been identified across Bangladesh by the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, an organization founded by the Father of the Nation."
"We will build all kinds of facilities in these areas in phases to make travel convenient and comfortable for tourists," added Mahbub.
Member of Parliament for Chapainawabganj-1, Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul; Reserved Constituency Member of Parliament, Ferdousi Islam Jessy; Senior Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Md Mahibul Haque; former Secretary, Zillar Rahman; Chapainawabganj Deputy Commissioner, Manjurul Hafeez; Superintendent of Police, AHM Abdur Rakib, and other senior government officials were also present during the inauguration ceremony presided over by the Chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, Ram Chandra Das.
