SpiceJet starts maiden flight operation on Chattogram-Kolkata route
It will operate non-stop flights on the route four times a week
For the first time in Bangladesh, Indian private airline SpiceJet has launched its flight operation on the Chattogram-Kolkata route as their 11th international destination.
The inaugural flight carried 20 passengers from Kolkata to Chattogram while 48 passengers will leave for Kolkata on the same flight.
Wing Commander M Farhad Hossain Khan inaugurated the flight operation at the Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city on Thursday morning.
SpiceJet Chattogram In-charge Asif Chowdhury told The Business Standard that SpiceJet will operate non-stop flights on the route four times a week on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
On those days, the flight will start from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata at 10:05 am and will land at Shah Amanat International Airport at 12:15 pm. It will leave Chattogram for Kolkata at 12:30 pm.
SpiceJet Bangladesh General Manager Tofail Ibn Solaiman and Sales Manager Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, among others, were present at the inaugural ceremony.
