Supreme Court orders bus owner to pay TK10 lakh to Rajib’s family
Rajib lost his right arm after he was trapped between two buses in the city's Banglamotor area on April 4 last year
The Appellate Division today directed Sajan Paribahan authorities to give Tk10 lakh as compensation within one month to the family of Rajib Hossain, a Titumir College student who was killed after losing his right arm to a race between two buses in the capital.
An Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain fixed November 17 for next hearing on the matter.
Rajib lost his right arm after he was trapped between two buses in the city's Banglamotor area on April 4 last year.
He succumbed to his injuries on April 17 that year.
Earlier on June 20, the bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam ordered two bus companies to give Tk 50 lakh in damages to the family of Government Titumir College student Rajib Hasan within two months.
However, Sajan Paribahan on July 17 filed an appeal against the compensation order.
