Ten injured in NSTU BCL infighting
Additional police personnel will be deployed on the campus from today.
At least 10 people were injured as two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists locked into sporadic clashes over establishing supremacy in Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU).
Witnesses said crude bombs were blasted and furniture vandalised during the clashes from Sunday night to Monday morning. On information police rushed to the campus and brought the situation under control.
The injured were taken to the Noakhali General Hospital. Resident Medical Officer Sayed Azim said: “Six BCL activists are undergoing treatment here.”
NSTU Vice Chancellor Dr Didarul Aalm said: “An emergency meeting was called immediately after the clash.”
“Additional police personnel will be deployed on the campus from today," said Superintendent of Police Alamgir Hossain.
