A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) seized around Tk8 crore from a microfinance organisation, Rupsha Multipurpose, on Wednesday in Chattogram's Export Processing Zone (EPZ) area.
DMP's Detective Branch with EPZ police conducted the joint drive on Tuesday.
"The microfinance organisation is accused of embezzling money of garment workers," said Mir Mohammad Nurul Huda, acting officer-in-charge (OC) of EPZ police station.

"The drive was launched based on complaints lodged by a customer," OC informed.
An investigation is currently underway, he added.
