A traffic sub-inspector died at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital after falling sick while conducting his duty on Wednesday.
The deceased is Moinal Hossain, 53, traffic-sub-inspector of Cox's Bazar town police outpost, hailed from Debidwar upazila of Comilla.
"Duty of the law enforcers has been increased in Cox's Bazar due to various reasons including Christmas. Moinal was performing duty on Wednesday morning (December 25) after finishing his duty on the previous night at circuit house route. He was rushed to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital as he suddenly felt chest pain at around 8.30 am," said Rumel Borua, in-charge (inspector) of Cox's Bazar town police outpost.
"Moinal was referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He breathed his last in the ambulance on his way to the hospital at around 12.23 pm," he added.
