Train services resume on Dhaka-Ctg route after 8-hour halt due to derailment

Train services between Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet resumed after being halted for over eight hours due to a derailment of a carriage of a freight train in Brahmanbaria today (20 November).
The rail communication resumed at 7:50pm, Brahmanbaria Railway Station Master Md Jasim Uddin told The Business Standard.
Earlier on the day, around 11:30am, two wheels of one of the Dhaka-bound freight train's carriages went off-track causing a derailment at Chotohoron area in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila.
The station master said after the accident, a rescue train arrived from Akhaura Railway Station and recover the derailed carriage.
