The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) today (25 December) suspended metro rail operations at the Dhaka University station due to security concerns.
The decision was made following a letter sent to DMTCL by the university authorities, the company's General Manager (operations) Md Iftikhar Hossain told The Business Standard.
"The university authorities discussed the matter with the Ministry of Home Affairs. Based on their security concerns, we decided not to stop the metro rail at Dhaka University station today.

"Operations will resume at the station starting tomorrow," Iftikhar added.
