Stranded Bangladeshis in India: 3 more land ports open from 16 May
All other restrictions and conditions imposed previously would remain in effect
Considering the suffering of the Bangladeshis still stranded in India, three more land ports will be opened for the entry of the stranded Bangladeshis from 16 May (Sunday) in addition to the Benapole, Burimari, and Akhaura.
The new land ports will be at Darshana, Hili, and Sonamasjid.
The decision was taken in an inter-ministerial meeting chaired by the Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) today.
As the facilities for quarantine under the District Administration of Jashore have been exhausted, entry through the Benapole may remain suspended for the time being.
The Bangladeshi travelers are requested to follow the guidance of Bangladesh Missions in India in this regard.
All other restrictions and conditions imposed previously would remain in effect.
The meeting was also attended by High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India, Secretary of Security Services Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Secretary (East) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division; Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and representatives of MoFA, MoHA, AFD, BGB, relevant District Administrations and Bangladesh Missions in India
