Trial run conducted on Mawa-Bhanga railway via Padma Bridge
A trial run was conducted on the Mawa-Bhanga railway through the Padma Bridge on Friday.
The train started its journey from Bhanga railway station in Faridpur at 7:30am and reached Mawa station in Munshiganj 9:06am on the day, Brigadier Saeed Ahmed, manager of the Mawa-Bhanga section of the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project, told the media.
"The trial running is part of the final preparation for rail traffic in the Dhaka-Bhanga section of the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project," he added.
During that time, the train ran at 60 km per hour.
Later, at 9:30am, the experimental train left Mawa railway station for Faridpur. At that time the train ran at 80 km per hour.
At 10:40am the train left from Bhanga for Mawa again at a speed of 100km per hour and reached Bhanga again at 11:50am.
In this regard, Bhanga Railway Station Master M Shajahan said that earlier the passenger train arrived at Bhanga station in Faridpur at night from Ishwardi. Trials are being given for speed testing of passenger trains and goods trains over the broken Dhaka railway and Padma railway bridge.
