Two more workers die after molten iron burnt their bodies
At least six people were burnt in the incident.
Two more workers have succumbed to their injuries after molten iron fell on them at a rod factory in Narayanganj's Rupganj upazila.
They died at the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the capital on Friday night. A total of four workers died in the incident.
The deceased are Md Shakil, 20, son of Abdus Sobhan of Banglabari area of Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat, and Abu Siddique, 30, son of Tipu Sheikh of Nageshwari upazila in Kurigram.
Confirming the deaths of the two workers, Bachchu Mia, in-charge inspector of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital police outpost, told the media that the process of handing over the bodies of the workers to their relatives was underway.
Two more workers- Rafiq Mia, 45, and Md Raju, 40- who were also burnt in the incident, are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Earlier, Mizanur Rahman, 42, died at the spot on Thursday morning and Fahim, 25, died at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Friday afternoon in the same accident.
The incident took place at around 3am on Thursday at the Premier Steel and Re-Rolling Mill in Barpa area of Rupganj. At least six people were burnt in the incident.
