A man in Narayanganj has been accused of raping his three-year-old step-niece.
The victim's father has lodged a case over the incident on Tuesday night, said Rupganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Hassan.
According to the case statement, the victim's mother visited her father's (victim's maternal grandfather) home in Bholabo village under Rupganj upazila on January 17 this year. That evening, the step-brother of the victim's mother, Shakil Bepari raped the child when she was alone.

Hearing her screams, the child's mother and other relatives rescued her and took her to the hospital for treatment in secrecy.
After learning about the incident, the victim's father lodged a rape case with Rupganj Police Station on Tuesday.
"The child has been sent to a hospital for medical checkup. We have launched a drive to arrest the accused," said the OC Mahmudul Hassan.
