Wild elephant kills man in Chattogram, 1 injured
According to eyewitnesses, the elephant flung him away by its trunk
A man was reportedly killed in a wild elephant attack in Chattogram's Satkania upazila on Sunday (6 December).
The deceased was identified as Nesar Ahmed, 52, an auto-rickshaw driver.
A man named Nitya Lal Das, 65, was critically injured during the attack.
The incident took place around 8.30pm at Dharmapur union of Satkania upazila.
Anowar Hossen, officer in charge (OC) of Satkania Police Station, told The Business Standard, "While auto-rickshaw driver Nesar Ahmed was returning home after work, the elephant attacked him out of the blue."
"Later, he was taken to a local hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead," he added.
According to eyewitnesses, the elephant flung him away by its trunk.
