A woman, her ‘lover’ commit suicide with same rope in Satkhira

The bodies of a housewife and a youth were found hanging in Satkhira's Kalaroa upazila on Sunday morning.
The deceased are - Fatema Begum, 40, from Sripatipur village and Karim Par, 30, from Dhumghat Dakshinpara in Shyamnagar upazila.
Local people believe that they committed suicide over a love affair. The police said that the incident is being investigated.
Local Union Parishad member Nazrul Islam said, "One Sheikh Abdul Hai called me in the morning and informed me that two people had committed suicide at his house and that I should all the police. His daughter-in-law and another young man died. Abdul Hai's son Sheikh Hasan is mentally unstable. Everyone thinks that this incident happened due to a love affair."
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalaroa Police Station Mir Khairul Kabir said, "The bodies were recovered after the incident was reported to the police station around 7:30 am. Two corpses were hanging from a mango tree tied with the same rope. The incident is being investigated."
"We did not find any signs of injuries on the body of the young man, but the housewife had scratches on her face and neck. The bodies are being sent to the morgue of Satkhira Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Details of the ongoing investigation will be known later," he said.
