43rd BCS preliminary exams likely in March
Online application for the 43rd BCS will start on December 30 at 10:00am which will end at 6:00pm on January 31
The preliminary examination of 200 marks of the 43rd general BCS might be held in March 2021.
Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has disclosed the probable date in its circular.
However, the exact date and time of the examination will be published on the commission's website and media, said the circular.
Online application for the 43rd BCS will start on December 30 at 10:00am which will end at 6:00pm on January 31.
PSC specified that the applicants must pay the exam fees within 72 hours of filling in the forms online.
Preliminary and written examinations will be held in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh.
According to the notification of the 43rd BCS, 1,814 officers will be recruited in different cadres in this BCS. Of these, 300 will be appointed in administration cadre, 100 in police cadre, 25 in foreign cadre, 743 for education cadre, 35 in audit, 22 in information, 19 in tax, 14 in customs, and 19 in cooperatives.
Also, 2000 people will be appointed as assistant surgeons in the 42nd BCS.
The PSC issued a notification of two BCSs together on Monday night.
According to the notification, candidates will have to participate in the preliminary examination consisting of 200 numbers. The duration of the test will be 2 hours.
The preliminary examination will have 200 questions. Candidates will get 1 number for each correct answer. However, in case of a wrong answer 0.5 number will be deducted from the total obtained number. The preliminary based syllabus can be found on the PSC website.
The marks consist of Bengali Language & Literature - 35, English Language & Literature - 35, Bangladesh Affairs - 30, International Affairs - 20, Geography (Bangladesh & World) - 10, Environment & Disaster Management - 10, General Science - 15, Computer & Information Technology - 15, Mathematical Reasoning - 10, Mental Skills - 10 , Ethics, values and good governance - 10.
