4 Buet students to receive Honda “Y-E-S” Award
An awarding ceremony for the programme is scheduled to be held on January 28
Four students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) have been selected for the Honda Young Engineer and Scientist's (Y-E-S) Award programme in Bangladesh.
The Honda Foundation (HOF) started the first programme in the country since August 2019 through Bangladesh Honda Private Ltd (BHL) in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Center (JICC).
The award aims to "foster future leaders of science and technology fields to spearhead the growth of Asian countries in the future", according to a press release.
Students of four public engineering universities in Bangladesh took part in the programme. The universities are Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Cuet), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet), and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet).
Four participants including Tonushree Dutta, Tahsina Alam, Shashata Sawmya and Satyaki Banik from Buet have been selected for the Y-E-S Award. Every awardee will be awarded with USD 3,000 and one motorcycle from HOF and BHL respectively.
