BATB holds 47th AGM in digital platform

British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) Company Limited has held its 47th annual general meeting in a digital platform on Wednesday.
The meeting was held online in order to avoid public gathering amid the coronavirus outbreak, in line with the directives provided by the Security Exchange Commission.
Chairman of the company, Golam Mainuddin presided over the meeting, said a press release.
The board of directors approved 400 percent cash dividend per share for the financial year ending on December 31, 2019, at the meeting.
A total of Tk26,985 crore was contributed by the company to the national exchequer in 2019, making the company the country's highest taxpayer of the year, added the statement.
The company's Managing Director Shehzad Munim, and its other directors were also present at the AGM.
