PWD inaugurates 2020 Annual Conference with Aqua Paints & Elite Steel
The two day PWD Annual Conference 2020 ended on February 24 at Purta Bhaban, Segunbagicha in the capital. Sharif Ahmed, the newly appointed state minister for housing and public works, inaugurated the conference, said a press release.
The Public Works Department under Ministry of Housing and Public Works, organised the event with support from Aqua Paints and Elite Steel.
In his inaugural speech, the state minister praised the contributions made by engineers to drive development in the country and requested stricter monitoring by all field engineers in their respective sites.

Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker, secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, also spoke at the opening session of the conference.
One of the highlights of the first day was a technical knowledge sharing session jointly hosted by two sister concerns under Elite Group – Aqua Paints and Elite Steel. The companies showcased their attractive products including roofkote paint and deformed bars grade 60.
Qualities of the two products exceed those of their competitors in the market, the press release added.
Elite Group Director, Shayaan Seraj, committed by saying, "Our multi-generation family business has been supporting the country's infrastructure development for about 70 years, and aspires to continue doing so with the support of the Public Works Department." He requested the department to give high quality local brands an opportunity to bid on upcoming projects.
Chief Engineer of Public Works Department Ashraful Alam and Chief Architect of Department of Architecture ASM Aminur Rahman were present at the opening session along with other senior engineers and architects from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
