Banglalink secures Fastest Mobile Network award
In the first two quarters of this year, Banglalink had the highest 12.78 Mbps speed, while the country’s all the operators’ average download speed was 10.29 Mbps
Banglalink has clinched the Ookla Speedtest Award as the fastest mobile network in the country for the first two quarters of 2020.
The award is given based on user-initiated results generated from Ookla's Speedtest app. Banglalink secured the award with a Speed Score of 15.09 in the above-mentioned period.
Meanwhile, Grameenphone, the country's largest mobile phone operator, has secured the second position with a Speed Score of 11.25.
With millions of results obtained through the Speedtest app each day, Ookla has the most accurate and comprehensive view of worldwide network performance, quality and accessibility.
In the first and second quarter of this year, Banglalink had the highest 12.78 Mbps speed, while the country's all the operators' average download speed was 10.29 Mbps.
On the other hand, the download speed of Grameenphone, Robi and Teletalk was 9.96 Mbps, 9.58 Mbps and 6.39 Mbps respectively.
Meanwhile, Grameenphone had the highest 7.31 Mbps upload speed against the country's four operators' 6.73 Mbps average speed.
In this sub-section, Banglalink's speed was 6.73 Mbps.
Banglalink officials said in 2018, the operator procured the highest amount of spectrum from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission to stay competitive in the market, and now the initiative is paying off with the high-quality user experience in data services.
Recently, Banglalink has refreshed its existing logo consisting of the famous tiger stripes representing the Bangladeshi spirit of courage and winning despite facing challenges, which highlights the company's zeal to provide the best services to its customers.

He said with the highest amount of spectrum per customer among all the private operators in the country, Banglalink has focused on modernising its infrastructure and expanding the strong 4G network in recent times.
