4th chartered flight for US citizen on Tuesday

The USA Embassy is continuing to work with the Department of State and Bangladesh government to charter another flight for US citizens who opted to return home on their personal choice amid Covid-19 outbreak.
The special flight – fourth one so far – is planned to depart the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka next Tuesday, April 21.
"The flight is not yet authorized or confirmed, but we are targeting Tuesday, April 21 as the departure date. If the flight is authorized, we expect this will be the final US State Department chartered flight returning to the United States from Bangladesh during the COVID-19 crisis. We urge US citizens who wish to return to the United States take advantage of this opportunity or be prepared to remain in Bangladesh until commercial flights resume," according to US embassy press release.

Like the previous three flights, this one will also follow the same route – from Dhaka to Doha in Qatar, then a connecting flight to the Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC. The passengers will remain on the airplane in Doha.
Three chartered flights of Qatar Airways have so far taken 919 US citizens back to the US – 328 on April 13, 269 on March 30 and 322 on April 5.
In late March, the Bangladesh government briefed foreign envoys that it would allow foreign nationals living here to leave the country by chartered flights as commercial flights were suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following the announcement, 919 stranded Americans were evacuated by the US Embassy from Bangladesh on three separate chartered flights of Qatar Airways.
A total of 290 Australian citizens and permanent residents left Dhaka for Melbourne on last Thursday night by a non-scheduled flight of Sri Lankan Airlines.
On March 26, 354 Malaysian and Bhutanese citizens left Dhaka on three separate flights. Of them, two Drukair flights carried 124 Bhutanese nationals and 230 Malaysians went by a Malaysia Airlines flight.
The Japanese government evacuated 327 of its nationals from Dhaka on April 2 through a chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh.
A total of 123 citizens of European Union (EU) countries left Dhaka for Frankfurt, Germany on April 10 by a special chartered flight of German Condor Airlines.
The British High commission in Dhaka arranged 4 special flight to evacuate its citizen which are scheduled to leave Dhaka on 21, 23, 24 and 25 April.
