Bangladesh army is set to patrol in the red zone areas declared by the government.

The government has taken initiatives to put the worst hit areas by Covid-19 under lockdown to stop further spread of the virus. The government has also extended the restrictions on movement till June 30 to curb the further spread of novel coronavirus in the country.
A general holiday will be applied in the red and yellow zone areas. The capital's East Raja Bazar area is already observing an experimental 14-day lockdown from June 9.
Earlier, the authorities have categorised 45 areas in Dhaka city as red zones over coronavirus infections following the recommendations of the national technical committee formed to tackle the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Of those, 17 areas are under Dhaka North City Corporation while 28 are under Dhaka South City Corporation. In addition, 11 areas in the port city of Chattogram, the entire Gazipur district, and few areas of Narayanganj and Narsingdi have also been identified as red zones.
